The Simpsons Exhibition is Now Open!

The Karikaturmuseum has pulled out all the stops!

Exhibit Information:

Date:

13/07/2024 - 29/06/2025

Address:

Karikaturmuseum Krems
Museumsplatz 3,
3500 Krems an der Donau,
Austria

Info:

Over 150 hand-drawn images and animation cels from the first thirteen seasons—after which the TV series was produced entirely digitally—the exhibition will showcase the adventures and pranks of the Simpson family. The couch gags are integral to the opening sequences of the series: Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie appear as skeletons, with pacifiers in their mouths, or in miniature on the sofa. Cartoons about the three-eyed fish Blinky or Homer’s dream about toilets bring a smile to your face. Also featured are cartoons with Mr. Burns, Homer’s boss and owner of the city’s nuclear power plant, Bart’s best friend Milhouse, as well as other well-known characters from the fictional small town of Springfield.

Storyboards and sketches offer a thrilling glimpse of the characters as well as the art and process of animation. Fun facts and photo spots ensure a unique Simpsons experience at the Karikaturmuseum Krems.

Curators: Gottfried Gusenbauer, artistic director of the Karikaturmuseum Krems, and Anna Steinmair, curator of the Karikaturmuseum Krems

Pulse Gallery's Visit

Everyone here at Pulse was so excited to work on this amazing project and Bill Heeter and Kristi Correa have such an amazing collection that it had to be shared!

This is the first time Bill and Kristi's collection has been showcased in Europe and the Karikaturmuseum was the best place for it to be. From glowing, green toxic waste barrels to yellow footprints on the floor leading you to our favourite exhibit, it should not be missed. Each room is as vibrant as the characters themselves with silhouettes of our favourite family. A curated collection of original production cels and drawings cover the walls and remind us of the scenes we've loved throughout the many years.

Bill's fantastic attention to detail truly brought this exhibit to life. Each cel was double matted and framed with handpicked colours inspired by the cel within. These cels were shown in their true unique glory with Bill's creative touch and loving attention.

After you have explored to your heart's content, take a minibus to the decommissioned Zwentendorf Nuclear Power Plant where fantastic guides will take you around the plant, full of Simpsons references, images and more of those awesome toxic waste barrels.

You must see this amazing exhibition for yourself to live in the wonder that is The Simpsons.
